President - James “Road Dog” Walker

James Has been with Sound FM for a number of years and has previously served on the board of directors as head of promotions. James has also worked in the music industry as a promoter, a booking agent, and roadie alongside heavyweights such as Kiss and Helix. He hosts the Road Dog Show and he has interviewed many bands over the years.

     
 

Vice-President - Dan Kellar

Dan is a community organizer with AW@L and the KW community Centre for Social Justice.  he is undertaking a PhD at the University of Waterloo, researching the application of environmental laws on the Haldimand tract with a de-colonial perspective.  Dan co-hosts a show on SoundFM called AW@L radio, podcasts with the rabble.ca podcast network, and writes for The Dominion, the Vancouver and Toronto Media Co-ops, rabble.ca, and his own blog - beingthechange.ca

     
 

Treasurer - Coral Andrews

Locally based regional and national arts writer, Coral Andrews, has been involved with CKMS, since 1977.

She is the host /creator of eclectic (now 25 year old) arts magazine Coral FM, which has featured a variety of guests from comedienne Phyllis Diller to playwright George F. Walker, over the years, plus a slew of local independent artists in all performing arts genres. The Coral Concerts series featured live shows at The Registry Theatre with Nash the Slash, Microbunny, and Bob Wiseman.

She also served a short term as President of CKMS FM, and is excited to be back on the Sound FM Board of Directors as Treasurer.

     
 

Secretary/HR- Kristylee Palma

Kristylee, also known as “KLP” is well known through the KW music and arts scene as a strong advocate for promoting and supporting independent musicians. With heavy involvement in social justice and educational initiatives, KLP also maintains a career in social services supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Her community work also includes fifteen years of motivational speaking for youths and workshop development across Southern and Central West Ontario. Joining SoundFm in 2004, KLP began as a volunteer radio host which developed into organizing local events promoting music, spoken word, slam poetry and social justice initiatives. As a radio host, KLP’s programming became CBC recognized as a radio program devoted to community. In 2006 Kristylee was appointed Vice President on the SoundFm Board of Directors. As of February 2010, Kristylee has returned to SoundFM as a radio host and appointed as Corporate Secretary for the 2010 Board of Directors.

     
 

Promotions/IT - Dave Mansell

Dave has been a working/touring musician for a number of years. He released his first record Perfect Days in 2005 and is currently part of a musical project called Red City, which integrates video art with music. He studied music at UBC in Vancouver and spent a few subsequent years living and playing in Toronto. Upon returning to Waterloo, Dave met Paul Maxwell and joined on as vice-president of Maxwell's Music House, offering his industry experience to help build and promote the local music scene. Most recently he was appointed to the Waterloo regional prosperity council's Creative Enabling Task Force, which will be a positive and powerful force for arts advocacy in the region.

     
 

Programming - Brandon Weirmier

He started his entertainment career while attending high school at Bluevale Collegiate Institute. First Brandon became head of the tech crew, in charge of full theatre , live music productions, even DJ-ing the school dances. From there he moved on to Fanshawe College to graduate from the Music Industry Arts Program, where he spent multiple hours in recording studios. he learned the ins and outs of both the music, and the business side of the music industry. excelling at production and business he learned the importance of networking.

while going to school he stayed busy in the industry working with live production companies in and around the London area. events include setting up, mixing, and creating a light sequence for a Trews show. he also was stage hands, setting up, organizing and moving gear for Sarnia's Rib Fest, as well as Bayfest. During this time he was also a part of the Fanshawe Student Union, working as an Audio Technician. he set up , ran, and striked multiple weekly events and live music events, from local bands and artists to big names like Dry County, Doc Walker, and Emm Gryner.

he has also branched out of the music scene, and has worked as a Theatre Technician with the London Fringe Festival, even the Fanshawe Graduation ceremonies.

Currently Brandon can be found roaming around his home town of Waterloo once again, this time as a live sound Engineer st Maxwell's Music House, and 100.3 sound FM radio station. He is also a freelance music professional; under his company "Brew Productions". he dose everything form live sound, professional home recordings, and DJ services. Under this company Brandon is also an artist manager and producer. he is currently working with Waterloo's "The Wormwood Scrubs"

     
 

Member at Large - Carlo "DJ Carmelo" Ferrugio

Carmelo is a prominent DJ in the region. Since 2004, he has hosted "Street Hop" on Sound FM, which is all about what's goin on on the streets of K-W; Local hip-hop for all to hear through the link of all artists in the area.
