Hi team,
Can you please a recording to my time slot, maybe one of the Beta ones.
I’m trying to do it from where I am but either the connection here is terrible (up north) or the computer at the station is slow when listing media.
The show is at 7pm.
Please let me know.

Training cancel

Hi Programmers,

I have to cancel tonight's open training session. My car has been having a hard time starting with the new cold weather and I'm getting it fixed tonight so I can make it to work tomorrow. There is nobody scheduled for tonight but just incase there were going to be any drop ins.
The next open training session will be in two weeks: Sunday October 15 @9-10pm
If you have any questions or concerns about training please send them my way and if it's something I don't know I'll find out before the training session.
Keep up the great programming! I will admit usually I have a rotation of CKMS, CJIQ and CKWR on in my car and lately CKMS has been sounding way better to the point that I don't even check the other two!
Anyways, my next project that I'm looking to make a video for us remote broadcasting. Talk to you soon.

Hey Dear Ones.  How is Autumn so far?

I have another wonderful interview for your enjoyment and I hope you don’t miss this one.  Please contact:  Ola Mazzuca at:  ola@indoorrecess.com.

Have fun with this one!

Hope you’re enjoying the week! Wanted to send you a note about JUNO Award-winning Canadian guitarist/songwriter/producer, Jesse Cook. He will be Kitchener on November 15 for a show at Centre in the Square sharing music from his new album, Beyond Borders, and I would love if we could set up an interview with him around the show, or while he is in town. Would you be interested in setting something up within the coming weeks? Jesse is an incredible performer, so I’d be happy to request a spot on the media list if you’d like to check out the concert, as well.

Beyond Borders was released on September 15 via eOne and follows the success of Jesse’s previous album, One World, and blends a variety of global elements, blurring lines between sound and style. I’ve included a link to the stream below so you can check it out, in addition to more great stories and details about the album. Two years in the making (with Jesse writing, arranging and recording the music in his home studio in Toronto), the album explores a sonic landscape undefined by geography, ethnicity and genres, as Jesse adds his unique, contemporary nuances through his distinct and intricate guitar style. The album’s first single, Double Dutch, exemplifies this with rhythms of Spain and Cuba, and salsa styles influenced by Miami and New York, over a djembe line – it has a great music video you can check out below. Born in Paris to Canadian parents, Jesse has recorded in seven countries on three continents, collaborating with Egyptian, Colombian, Brazilian, African and Armenian musicians to develop a singular synthesis of flamenco, jazz, R&B, electronic and world music. A father of two, master barista, filmmaker and world traveler, he has released 10 albums to-date, garnering eleven JUNO nominations – and a win for 2001’s Free Fall – in the World Music and Instrumental categories. I have attached Jesse’s bio, and included the latest press release announcing the album below my signature for more details. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Ola

The album’s first single, Double Dutch, exemplifies this with rhythms of Spain and Cuba, and salsa styles influenced by Miami and New York, over a djembe line – it has a great music video you can check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOjctd1mNME. It features Egyptian vocalist, Maryem Tollar, who adds improvised melodies to the track. A Mi Nina is a slow flamenco/rumba solo piece from Jesse, which was recorded in one take in a small studio in his countryside cabin, and is an ode to Jesse’s daughter, as it his her favourite song. Another track to start with includes funk and tabla-accented Wisdom of a Thousand Years, which was co-written with Bulgarian vocalist, Tamar Ilana, and features violinist, Chris Church. Jesse is not only a musician but a filmmaker that produces, shoots and edits his own videos – he recently traveled to Cartagena, Colombia, the hometown of his collaborator, Juan Medrano, to film the video for Hembra:  https://youtu.be/i9srZFMhCZU.

Peace & Love!
